FolioInsight is a fast, private iPhone and iPad app for Sharesight users. See every portfolio's value and gains the moment you open it, dig into holdings, dividends and history, and keep an eye on it all from your home screen.

What it does
Everything at a glance
A combined total across your portfolios, plus each portfolio's value, daily gain and total gain. Swipe for more or less detail. Consolidated views and groupings work too, and portfolios shared with you are kept separate.
Holdings, heat map and trades
Prices, daily and total gains for every holding, a heat map of the day's movers, and your trades, dividends and reinvestments, all grouped by sector, market or your own Sharesight groups.
Honest performance history
See your balance against the money you've actually put in, with every buy and sell marked, so new money is never mistaken for growth. Time- and money-weighted returns, by financial year.
Compare against a benchmark
Pick an index fund and see what the same money, invested on the same days, would be worth. Price growth and dividends are compared separately, because few people reinvest every dividend.
Dividend income
Income this financial year and last, month by month, with yield on value and on cost for each holding, and an estimate of the next twelve months.
Widgets, iPhone and iPad
A home-screen widget for the portfolios you choose. The app opens instantly with your last figures, then refreshes, and keeps working when you're offline.
Private by design
No account, no analytics, no ads and no server. Your Sharesight details stay in your Keychain and are only ever sent to Sharesight. Optional Face ID lock, and widgets can hide figures while it's on.

How it works
- Get Sharesight API access. Sharesight enables API access for your account; you then create a Client ID and Client Secret under Account › Sharesight API.
- Enter them in FolioInsight. They're stored in your Keychain and sync to your other devices through iCloud Keychain.
- That's it. FolioInsight reads your portfolios (it never changes anything in Sharesight), prices them with market data, and works out your gains and returns on your device.
Until then, FolioInsight runs on demo portfolios, so you can try everything first.
Join the trial
FolioInsight will be offered first as a free TestFlight beta. It's a personal project rather than a business, so here's the promise: FolioInsight will be free for at least 100 years. No subscription, no ads, no "pro" version. There'll be an optional tip jar to cover the Apple developer fees, and nothing locked behind it.
You'll need:
- an iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or later;
- a Sharesight account with API access enabled;
- a willingness to report the odd bug.
